KickOff@3 provides a platform for mentoring opportunities for young people. Thus giving the invaluable life skills to succeed in chosen careers. We are lucky enough to have the following great role models on-board to continue the legacy of our work.
We thank you all for your continued support and hard work.
Shane Sandiford Youth Mentor & Life Coach
“Helping young people achieve their potential and discover their Strengths”
I have over 15 years experience working with young people from various walks of life. My aim is to help them to achieve their potential and see value in themselves.
I have worked with Hertfordshire County Council for 10 years, as a youth worker, working in youth projects and leading sessions and managing projects. Also within Herts County council I have worked as a specialist youth worker in a music studio. I designed and led sessions, teaching young people the basics of the studio environment and recording and music production.
I have also specialised as a careers professional for Hertfordshire County Council. I worked with young people who are deemed hard to reach, supporting them and their families around the decisions that young people are faced with when transitioning into adulthood.
This experience allows me to provide private mentoring and support work with CLA young people and individuals who have an EHCP.
I am now working independently, supporting young people to help them to develop a sense of self worth and supporting them to see their relevance in their community. Through 1:1 support and mentoring I aim to assist young people to make informed decisions about their future and help them to plan how to get from where they are to where they want to be. I am also in the process of developing group work sessions for young people around Resilience, Mindfulness and Self Image. This is something that I plan to start piloting in the later part of 2019.
I work with a team of likeminded individuals and help put on charity basketball events. It is called TipOff@3 and is a community event that helps to bridge gaps between the community and police and gaps in the community itself. This initiative started in September 2018 and we are hoping to continue this for the foreseeable future.
