SpinOff@3 is a cycling challenge that can be completed whilst social distancing which encourages people of all ages (but especially young people) to be active, spend time with their household members and raise money for St Albans Action for Homeless.
The challenge is broken down into optional sub challenges which give people flexibility depending upon their individual circumstances. The sub challenges are:
· Tricycle 3 laps of your garden/lengths of your road (toddlers)
· Cycle for 3 miles over 3 days (for younger children/older people)
· Cycle for 3 hours over a week
· Cycle for 30 miles over a week
· Cycle as a 3, with members of your household/friends, 3 times in a week
The start date is the 3rd June until the 10th June.
Contestants will provide a minimum donation of £5. We are using EventBrite to collect donations so please ensure you have donated £5+. Each sub-challenge is divided into age categories to ensure fairness. Every contestant will automatically be entered into a raffle after registration and donation are complete. You can enter here.
For demonstrating you have completed the challenge/s, please use technology to demonstrate they have completed the challenge. There are a wide variety of apps that track exercise. Most smart phones will come with a health tracker already installed but there are plenty of others (https://www.cyclingweekly.com/group-tests/best-cycling-apps-143222). Alongside these are activity tracking watches and apps such as FitBit. We suggest you track your cycling via an app, then to screenshot it and submit it via email along with optional photos and videos taken during the challenge.
Sub challenge judgement criteria
Each sub-challenge will be judged on any/all of following criteria:
1. Best costume
2. Best video commentary
3. Best tri/bicycle/family selfie (taken whilst stationary)
4. Best nature photo
2. Best random fact about cycled area
4. Most creative visual diary entry of the cycling e.g. photos & videos
5. Best random fact relating to distance covered

Q: When does my evidence need to be submitted by?
Answer: Evidence must have been submitted by 00.01 on the 11th June 2020
Q: Do I have to complete every single judging criteria for my sub-challenge?
Answer: No, there is no pressure to complete all of these, they are just guidance. If you want to be creative in other ways when submitting your completion evidence, then please do. Our judges are looking for fun, creative individuals.
Q: How do I submit my completion and judging evidence?
Answer: Please email all your evidence to firstname.lastname@example.org. Please ensure you include the contestant name, age and contact details for every sub-challenge submission. Please also ensure these details match the details you gave when registering. If you are submitting photos/videos of yourself, please state whether you give consent (parents/guardians for under 18s) for these to be shared on social media. Any media provided will not be shared unless express permission is received and will only be used to judging purposes.
Q: When will the results be announced?
Answer: The winners for each sub-challenge and age category will be announced on the evening of Sunday 14th June (time TBC) on our social media channels.
Q: What will I get if I win?

Q: What will I get if I don’t win?
Answer: Every contestant is automatically entered into our raffle but every contestant will also be emailed a certificate showing they completed SpinOff@3.
